History
  • 1998 – Omega Business Consultants Ltd in Papua New Guinea was registered to engage in Accounting, Audit, tax and business consulting. The commercial operation commenced in 1999.

  • 2001 – Omega Business Consulting, Inc was registered mainly to develop software using VB.net platform. Brothers’ Dann and Dennis Hilario and their Uncle Manny Masangkay founded the OBCI. Dann & Dennis, the software developers while Manny provided the finance.

  • 2002 – after 6 months, the programming platform was entirely changed using JAVA.
  • 2004 – released of the first version of Omega Financial Suite (OFS). The office was transferred from a condo to a 100 sq.m. office at the same building – Cityland Pasong Tamo Tower in Makati, Philippines. Omega’s patent application for the digital attachment feature was lodged with the IPO Department of the Department of Trade & Industry. Omega's first clients and partners signed up at this period.

  • 2005 – the software was formally endorsed by the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) as an accredited business software. The first-ever in the Philippines for a locally made accounting software. Dann sought opportunity outside Omega while Dennis & Manny continued the pursuit to build Omega.

  • 2006 – Key departments were established. A team of marketing and production software engineers were organized. OBCI methodology was officially documented and then called OBCI XP Process.

Omega PNG has signed up their first few clients in PNG. A rice distributor from Thailand and a group of Malaysian owned business engaged in fuel distribution and manufacturing.

  • 2007 – Cityland office has to be vacated and Omega’s team transferred and thankfully admitted to Pacific Star Bldg with the support of one of its first client/partner Extramind F&A Outsourcing Inc, whose managing director, Mr. Mario Enriquez, is Manny’s long time friend and a former colleague at SGV.

With the help of SGV friends, and under the classic display of Dennis’ leadership, Omega was able to sign up more and more clients that enable the company to strenghten its sales and production team.

It is in this period that Dennis continued to manage the Philippine operation as the General Manager, while Manny remained as the Managing Director of the group. Both have been severely tried and tested during these times and yet became more than just uncle-nephew but better friends and business team where trust, honor, respect and integrity have been developed as integral part of the company’s core values. Both of them remained determined that Omega is built-to-last!
